Little Wonders is committed to providing reliable care for Australia’s most dedicated families.

As we expand throughout Australia our mission is to ensure defence families experience as little interruption to their in-home care requirements as possible.

By providing consistent care options throughout the country we hope to ease the stress often accumulated with frequent relocations by working closely with families to allow smooth transitions between changes.

Our care for defence families can be separated into 4 main categories:

At Home Care

In home care options provided for families include customised care types such as: babysitting, nannies, mother’s helpers, on call labour nannies, vacation nannies, overnight stays, temporary live in (but not permanent live in), before and after school care. We go through the process personally with each family to customise care for their needs. Our in-home care ratio is 1:3

Defence Benefits for 2023

Little Wonders offers a Discount ADF Rate where you could save $2-8 per hour depending on the type or care you require. The ADF Discount is also applicable to Wedding Packages.

Ask us about the ADF Discount Rate for your region when requesting your booking.

Community Care

We are currently collaborating with the defence community houses/centres to provide our services to assist the well-being of defence personnel and their family. Care at community houses/centres can include creche nannies, supervision for open days and Christmas events and many other options.

Our ratio for community house/centre care is 1:4 dependant on the ages of the children (the lower the age the higher the nanny ratio). Community Care may also merge with Barracks/Base Care in some circumstances.

Barracks Care

Care on barracks/base can be 100% customised to each event for which care is required. Events that could require care options could be regular or ad-hoc events that require care for 4 or more children, with the capability to cater for groups over 30 children. A minimum two nannies provide care with a ratio of 1:4 dependant on the ages of the children (the lower the age the higher the nanny ratio). Event’s that have been previously mentioned with other defence personnel include monthly/regular family meets within units (BBQ’s, dinners etc.)

A custom quote can be provided for each event and activities can be co-ordinated to a colour or event theme. We offer the option to provide child safe furniture for each space including comfort options such as floor rugs (great for winter), blankets, cushions and slumber spaces (including portable cots) for children birth-12 years of age. Regular events can also be negotiated to a set rate should the requirements be the same each time. Barracks/Base care may also merge with Community Care in some circumstances.

Public Events & Exhibitions

Care at public events such as community days, expo’s and other specialised events to support defence. Group activity spaces are great for public events as generally have a theme that is based around craft, creation or sensory.

Public Events can be offered in two service forms:

Open Care: children are able to come and go as they please and are still required to be supervised by an adult. This is common for expo’s where parents are still responsible for their child’s wellbeing.

Closed Care: Children are signed in and out of  care and can be cared for by our team for a specified period of time to allow parents to attend an event without children by their side. All parents must complete a registration form prior to leaving their children in care. This will be able to be done online and/or onsite if the ratio permits.
